Bathing Products
A Golden Retreiver’s skin can go through many changes depending on the weather, hormones, illness, allergies and stress. Nootie has several products depending on what the skin needs. I use this for everyday maintenance of healthy skin. It smells amazing and leaves the coat so soft and shiny.
Sensitive Skin – Oatmeal based
Dry and flaky Skin – Moisurizing
Itchy Skin – Hypoallergenic
Damaged Skin –

The FURME
This is a great tool that is totally worth it! It sucks up the hair as your grooming to save you time! If I can get the job done and keep things clean, I will fork over some cash every single time!

Drying your dog
It’s a good idea to blow dry your dog to get that undercoat dry to avoid hot spots. You can use a regular blow dryer for puppies and graduate to something like this for higher velocity and less drying time. These two products are often used in the show world for Golden Retrievers to help thicken and control all that gorgeous golden hair we all love.

Brushing- Combs, Slicker Brush
Nails- Clippers, Dremel

Paw pad hair-Small clippers

Ears-Advanced Otic Ear Cleanser, 4×4 pads, Qtips, Zymox Ear Cleanser, Zymox Otic

Teeth- Tooth Brushing, Deep Cleaning at home, Professional Cleaning
Skin-Hot Spots, Flaky Skin
Shampoos for Itchy/Flaky/Fungus/Yeast
Eye Discharge- 4×4 cotton pad
A LAST RESORT
This tool is a serious deshedding tool that uses razors to strip out the undercoat and thin out very very thick hair that tends to mat. You should use an ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION. This tool CAN CUT THEIR SKIN IF YOU AREN’T VERY VERY CAREFUL. If you are considering using a tool like this, I URGE you to reach out to me first to discuss if it is appropriate in your given situation. Many other ways to deshed your dog exist besides using this tool or resorting to shaving your dog which is a BIG-BIG NO-NO for double-coated dogs.
